Raise a question: What are the most essential parts of a sentence? Subject and predicate.
Introduce the three types of sentence: simple sentence, compound sentence and complex sentence and ask students to identify.
Present a sentence to explain when and why Non-predicate Verbs are used.
Purpose: To get across to students what are Predicate Verbs and Non-predicate Verbs and their functions.
Step 2 Explanation
Introduce the key solutions when dealing with problems.
Task 1: Review the main points (tense,voice and Subject-predicate consistency) of Predicate Verbs and finish related exercises.
Task 2: Review the main points and skills of Non-Predicate Verbs and finish related exercises.
