Analysis of the teaching material
The material is Warming Up in Unit 1 Friendship from PEP NSEEFC Module 1.
The topic of this unit is friends and friendship. The unit 1 examines different kind of friendship. It's not only explores friendship between people but also pays particular attention to the friendship one can develop with oneself. In the other words, it shows how a person find comfort and suport with an imaginary friend. In these reading from The Diary of Anne Frank, students will see how a lonely and frightened teenager copes with a very unusually stressful situation.She dose this by confiding in Kitty, the name of her diary. Anne didn't want to set a series of facts in diary as most people do, but she want her diary to be her friend. So Anne called her diary Kitty. She examines her problems and tries to find a way to deal with them.
The purpose of the Warming Up section is to introduce the topic to the students in an interesting way, to remind them of what they have already known and let them think about it. To "warm up" means to do a bit of preparation for a large learning task.
