Step1. Greeting and Lead-in
Good morning, everyone. Today we are going to read a passage about Anne’s Best Friend. Please take out your book and turn to P 2, before the new lesson, let us look at 2 pictures on P3. What can you see in the pictures?
Picture 1--- 4 people were hiding in the house and they looked scared, maybe they were frightened to be found by others
2 people were walking in the street, maybe they looked for sb or sth.
Picture 2--- A girl was writing her diary when she looked very frightened, maybe she saw something strange or something horrible outside the house.

In fact these two pictures are about a true story. It took place in Amsterdam, Holland in the early 1940s after the German Nazis had occupied most of Europe. they killed a lot of the Jewish in Europe. If any persons known to be Jewish were found, they would be sent to concentration camps where Jewish would be killed, To avoid this terrible fate, some Jewish families went into hiding, often with the help of non-Jewish friends. This diary was written during the time when Anne and her family moved to escape from being killed by Nazis. Today we will learn a passage about Anne and her diary.
