The students in my class are of different levels, so I should adapt the lesson to each of them and try to solve different kinds of problems which may appear in the lesson. Give them more chances to practice English and involve actively in class.
Teaching aims:
1 Knowledge aims:
Get the students to learn the new words and phrases: get along with, fall in love with, have trouble with...
2 Ability aims:
Enable students to listen to and understand the listening material
Help students improve their listening and speaking abilities.
3 Emotional aims:
Develop and improve the students’ ability to help others solve problems such as peer pressure.
Teaching important and difficult points:
Develop students’ listening ability, especially listening to the key words and understanding speaker’s intention and attitude.
Teaching methods:
Task-based approach, cooperative learning.
Teaching procedures:
Step1 Lead-in
Show pictures of my friend and I, then let students guess who they are. While describing, the teacher present the new words and phrases on the screen. Then students try to understand what the teacher said.
Purpose: To attract students’ attention and arouse their interest towards this class.
Step2 Reading
Show three questions on the screen.And ask students to read the letter and try to answer the questions.After their reading, the teacher will invite some students to answer the questions.
Purpose: To practice students’ fast reading ability.
Step3 Listening
For the first time of listening:
Show a question on the screen: What’s Miss Wang’ advice?
Ask students to listen and then answer the question.
