第二步：小组活动，让学生从阅读课文中找出定语从句，因为通过前阶段的学习，学生们对课文里出现的这些句子很熟悉；学生们分成五大组，每组从文章一或者二段中，找出定语从句。目的：一帮助学生进一步认清定语从句；二，导出今天学习的主题——关系副词when, where, why在定语从句中的用法；三，是培养学生探究式学习习惯以及相互协作能力。

The mines where I got a job were 9km from my home.

The reason why I got a job was because of my hard work.

The time when I joined the ANC Youth League was late at night.

The government building where we voted was very grand.

The date when I arrived was the 5th August.

五句中关系副词 where, why, when 都可以用介词加关系代词来替换，如

The mines in which I got a job were 9km from my home.

The reason for which I got a job was because of my hard work.

The time at which I joined the ANC Youth League was late at night.

The government building in which we voted was very grand.

The date on which I arrived was the 5th August.

第三步：引导学生去分析上面找出的定语从句，思考关系副词的作用，先行词的意义，进而让学生自己总结关系副词的用法。

第四步：设计了两种练习：一是用关系副词把两个简单句合并成一个定语从句；二是用关系副词填空。目的：学以致用，让学生在练习中深入理解关系副词的用法，巩固本节课学习到的知识。

第五步：挑出容易犯错的知识点呈现给学生，帮助学生掌握易错点。

第六步：小组练习，四人一组，定语从句造句，难度加大，进一步巩固所学知识，培养学生学会应用所学知识去解决问题的能力。
