Step 2. Learning about the attributive clause
Read the passage again and underline all the sentences with attributive clauses.
(1)This gift was the Amber Room, which was given this name because several tons of amber were used to make it.
(2)The amber which was selected had a beautiful yellow-brown colour like honey.
(3) It was also a treasure decorated with gold and jewels, which took the country’s best artists about ten years to make.
2. Get Ss to tell whether the following pairs of sentences mean the same thing.

Step 3. 非限制性定语从句关系代词和关系副词的选择及其定义。
(1)限制性定语从句是先行词在意义上不可缺少的定语, 如果去掉, 主句的意思就不完整或失去意义。这种从句和主句的关系十分密切,写时不用逗号分开。限制性定语从句中作宾语的关系代词常可省略。如:
