Step II. The students show their preparation 8’
Before the class, I will divide the students into four groups and give them their own task. They are supposed to introduce something about the passage in their own way. For example, they can introduce “Greece” by showing some pictures.
Step III. Leading-in 1’
Lead the students to the story by using their preparation and some pictures about Gods and Goddesses in the ancient Greece.
Step IV. Fast reading 3’
Find out the answers to some easy questions by skimming.
Who was Atlanta?
What was she good at?
Who did she want to marry?
How could Hippomenes win Atlanta?
Step V. Careful reading 10’
Read the passage carefully and finish the exercise 1 on page 14. Then check the answers with the students.
Step VI. Listening 13’
Before listening, let the students do the exercise 3 on page 15 by discussing with their partners. Then listen to the tape and check the answers. 8’
Listen to the tape again and fill in the blanks. 5’
