I. Teaching Aim:

1.Knowledge objects:

1)Read all the new words and phrases , paying attention to the pronunciation and stress

2)talk about the development of computers

3) master the use of some words.

2. Process and approaches :discussion;talking and doing expressions

3. Emotion and moral: get to know the history of the development of computers.

II. Teaching important points

1 Let students know about the history of computers;

2 Try to improve students’ reading ability;

3. Learn how to use the new words and expressions;

III. Teaching difficult points

Let students know how to improve reading skills and grasp the structure of the text

IV. Teaching procedures:

Step I .Warming up

1. Guessing Game

Describe the pictures in warming up of the text book.

2. Ask students to guess “What is it?” Guess who I am according to the pictures. (abacus, calculator, huge computer, pc, laptop, PDA, and robot)

3.Try to put them in the right order according to the time and find the history of computers

If you want to know more about computers, open the book to P18 and read the text “Who Am I?”

[Purpose of my design]:cultivate the students interest, improve the students enthusiasm to the topic, and lead in to warming up naturally.

StepII. Pre-reading

T asks the Ss--- what you think the article will talk about.” Ss make predictions according to the title and the pictures 。T writes down Ss’ ideas on the blackboard. .

[Purpose of my design]: guide the students to predict what will be talked about in the text , arouse the awareness of how to write and organize a passage .

Step III. Reading
