Step 1. Lead-in
To play a video of a robot running out of battery uses its last power to save a girl. And after watching the video, the teacher asks the students to have a share with the class.
Question 1( for Q1): What happened to the robot?
Q2: How do you like the robot? Why?
Step 2. Warming-up
Free Talk: What do you think android can be? The teacher shows various pictures to the whole class, and the students answer the identities of different robots after their observations. The teacher then leads the students to the reading material Andy-The Android naturally.
Step 3. Pre-reading
Before reading the context, the teacher leads the students to preview some important words and expressions in the context by matching to the correct definitions.
Step 4. While reading
Task 1. Fast reading
The teacher asks the students to read the whole context quickly and fill in the form of Andy’s profile.
