学情分析:
所授课班级为高一少数民族班学生(大多数来自牧区,母语为蒙古语,同时学三门语言),初中英语基础相对比较薄弱,不太擅长口语表达。但机器人是学生比较感兴趣的话题,教师利用一些机器人图片和相关电影的介绍充分调动学生的学习积极性,引导他们主动参与课堂活动,发挥想象力和创造力,积极自信地用英语表达自己的想法。
教学过程:
Step I. Lead-in.
1. ''The development of chips has brought many applications of computer technology. They have been put into robots or androids. Do you know what’s the difference between a robot and an android? ''
Encourage students to think and give their own answer.
2. ''Have you ever seen some movies about robots or androids?Try to introduce them.''
Invite some students to introduce the movies about robots or androids that they have seen.
Then share three famous movies about robots with students.(Big Hero Six; Wall-E; I, Robot.)
Step II. Reading.
Have students read the passage on page23 carefully, get the general idea and find the necessary information to fill in the file for Andy.

Character: competitive, cooperative
Ability: can run very fast, move and think like a human
Job: striker
Step III. Speaking.
1. Have students work in pairs, talk with their partners and create their own robots using their imagination. Then fill in the file of their robots and compare with their partners.
