二、学情分析
虽然我们属于一所普通县区高中学校，学生英语基础相对薄弱，但针对他们年龄的特点，高一年级的学生，十六七岁，朝气蓬勃，求知欲强，在思维上有很强的独立性，在阅读方面，学生能从一般的文字资料中获取主要信息，能运用适当的阅读策略，针对问题表达自己的见解，而且能与他人合作，解决问题并报告结果。同时他们也具备很强的社会责任感和责任心，对于发生在他们身边的动物灭绝的问题，他们乐于针对此问题进行讨论发表自己的见解，并提出相应的解决措施。通过学生课前的预习，基本能够完成课堂的学习目标。
三、课堂设计理念
高中英语课程标准强调发展学生自主学习和合作学习的能力，形成有效的英语学习策略。因此，在整个教学过程中，本人注重引导学生主动学习，鼓励学生通过体验、实践、讨论、合作、和探究的方式发展综合语言技能，使学生获得经验，增强自信，提高能力。
四、Teaching Goals
1.Get students to learn about the knowledge of wildlife protection.
2.Get students to understand the passage by using different reading skills.
3.Enable students to talk about the topic on wildlife protection and realize the importance of protecting the wild animals and learn what we should do to protect the wildlife from dying out.
五、Teaching important & difficult points
1.Enable the students to know some basic information about the endangered animals and wildlife protection.
2.Encourage students to think and express their attitude towards the wildlife and the wildlife protection.
How to enable the students express themselves freely.
Teaching procedures:
Step1 Warming up
T:Show some wild animals’ pictures and ask students to tell their English names.
Ss:Talk about these endangered animals and their living places.
Step 2 Pre-reading
T:Why are they in danger of dying out?
Ss: Describe the pictures on the screen and talk about the present situations the wild animals face. Try to state the reasons why they died out.
Step3 Reading
Task1:Listen to the tape and find out the main idea of this passage.
What is the main idea of this passage?
A.Daisy had a real and wonderful travel and learned a lot from it.
B.Daisy realized the importance of wildlife protection by traveling in a flying carpet.
C.Daisy talked with three wild animals in a rainforest and learned a lot.
