2. Knowing the usage of the words and phrases through examples or by comparison.
3. Use the words and phrases in a real life situation.

1. Vocabulary of unit 4, such as decrease, respond, relief, etc.
2. Phrases of unit 4, such as in peace, in relief, protect...from, do harm to, etc.

Stage 1 Warm up
Step 1 Greeting
Step 2 Lead-in: T shows some pictures about wildlife animals.
Stage 2 New words and phrases learning
Step 1 The whole class read the new words and phrases together.
Step 2 Explain the usages of the words and expressions as follows:
decrease vt.& vi. 减少；（使）变小
Eg: If their habitat is threatened or they cannot find enough food, their numbers may decrease
