Teaching Aims:
Knowledge: Equip students with the usage of the grammatical structure in this unit -- Present Progressive Passive Voice
Skill: Enable students to analyze and conclude a certain grammatical structure within the authentic context

the basic structure of Present Progressive Passive Voice
the fundamental sentence type in the English language -- SVO
basic procedures in using a certain grammatical structure to make sentences

The multimedia system, blackboard
Analysis of Teaching Object:
The students have m language proficiency, especially in speaking and reading. And they have just learnt the reading passage. So they are familiar with the content as well as the structure of the passage.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Discovering
Lead-in: present students a short video showing the worrying situation of four wild animals which are being hunted, then ask them to match the animals with the reasons why they are being killed (4 minutes)
Scanning: go through the reading passage on Page 26 and ask students to find the good news and bad news of different animals. (6 minutes)
Concluding: analyze the similarities of the key sentences in the passage. (4 minutes)
Step 2 Summarizing
Analyze the basic structure of Present Progressive Passive Voice and ask students to find more examples from the reading passage. (4 minutes)
Present students with more examples in the workbook and ask them to compare the difference between the basic structure “be being done” and “be under noun”. (6 minutes)
Step 3 Practicing
Imagine the family members in the video above are going to protect the animals. Ask students to write travel journals for them using Present Progressive Passive Voice. (6 minutes)
