IV. Teaching Procedures
Step 1 Lead in ( 3')
In this step, the Ss will enjoy a video (Michael Jackson’s Earth Song) and find as much information about the environment as possible. ( What is happening? What is being done?)
(设计意图:通过声音、图片、视频等视觉听觉上的刺激,使学生快速进入话题。再通过句子的呈现,旨在让学生自然而然地认识新的语法结构。)
Step 2 Presentation ( 2')
After the students describe what they have seen and heard in the video, T presents some sentences which are similar to or come from Ss’ sentences. These sentences are written in the Present Progressive Passive Voice. Ask the Ss to pay attention to the structure.
(设计意图:通过教师的句子呈现,让学生对现在进行时态的被动语态有一个初步的印象。)
Step 3 Discovering ( 5')
Ask the Ss to pick out the sentences with the same structure as the sentences given just now in the text on Page 26. Then ask them to discover the form of the Present Progressive Voice themselves.
(设计意图:通过让学生观察课文中含有现在进行时被动语态的句子,自己归纳出现在进行时被动语态的结构,培养学生自主学习的能力。)
Step 4 Practice (Challenge Yourself) ( 20')
In this step, there are 4 tasks altogether.
Task 1: Ask and Answer (Pair Work)
Task 2: Make Sentences (Individual Work)
Task 3: Act and Guess (Class Work— One S acts, the others guess)
Task 4:Corrections (Individual Work)
(设计意图:这几个任务由易到难,紧紧围绕现在进行时态的被动语态而进行。活动基本上涉及到班上每一个学生,并通过不同的活动形式培养学生独立思考、合作学习的习惯。)
Step 5 Writing (15')
Describe the picture :What is happening ? Write a short passage about the measurements that are being taken to improve the environment. Then show your composition in front.
