2. Ability goals: enable the students to use the grammar points correctly and solve problems in practice.
3. Emotion goals: make the Ss interested in grammar learning.
II. Teaching important and difficult points
The important point is to get the Ss to grasp the basic rules of this grammar point.
The difficult point is to enable the Ss to use it correctly in practice.
III: Teaching procedure. There are 4 steps in this section.
Step1. Grammar revision:
1. Ss are to review the structure of the present continuous tense.
2. Ss are to review the structure of the passive voice.
3. Ss try to combine the two structures together.
Step 2. Preparation:
The Ss are to read the passage again and underline the sentences which contain the grammar point, and then work in pairs to figure out the meanings.
Step 3. Presentation.
Now, I think it is the very time to present the structure and grammar rules of the present progressive passive voice and meanwhile show some related examples on the board.
Step 4. Practice.
Activity1. The students are to finish some different kinds of exercises to get familiar with the grammar point. By doing this, I will check whether they have understood the grammar rules.
Activity2. I will show some examples of multiple choice questions in the college entrance examination paper on the screen. This task can enable the students to solve problems in practice.
IV. Summary. Summarise the main content of this class briefly.
V. Homework. The students are to finish exercise 2 & 3 on Page 64
in the workbook and learn the grammar points by heart.
