This is the last teaching period of this unit. As usual, the teacher should check students’ homework and offer chances for them to go over what they learned in the last period at the beginning of the class. Then lead in the new lesson.
In this period, the teaching emphasis will be put on developing students’ writing ability by writing a practical advice letter. We will deal with two parts: one is the discussing part and the other is writing one. As to new words and phrases, the teacher can first find those students feel most difficult and help them to understand. That’s enough here. The purpose of the discussion is to introduce a topic and students are ready for writing . As to the part writing task, its purpose is to develop their writing skills and introduce students to write a good composition. At the end of the class, ask students to write the passages. In order to arouse students’ interest, the teacher can hold a competition between them.

In this class, students will:
learn some words and expressions about wildlife protection;
know about the importance of protecting wildlife by looking through some pictures and watching a video;
learn how to write an advice letter by gathering useful information;
get a knowledge of the outline of an advice letter;

Develop students’ writing skills by speaking and writing and enable them to learn how to use different writing skills to write different materials.
