This is a class talking about letter for advice. It requires the basic notion of forming a letter as well as writing questions. However, the combination of the two may be a difficult point for students to proceed since their knowledge about writing is still scattered. Under this circumstance, I try to adapt the scaffolding theory in my writing class, aiming at helping students write with clear guidance.

The class I am teaching is from senior 1. It is a class with a majority of key students of science. Despite the fact that they represent an overall good academic performance, their English level is not as high as where they should be. Particularly, as students of science, they prefer learning with formulas to context. Therefore, to give clear instructional scaffold is an important thing to do.
