3.Students can share different kinds of music and love the world full of music.

Analysis of the students:

Many of the students show little interest in learning English,because their English is poor. Some students want to learn English well, but they have much difficulty persisting studying English hard. On one hand, their vocabulary and grammar are limited; on the other hand, they lack confidence to express themselves in English. Therefore , it's important to arouse their interest and increase their self-confidence.

Teaching Important Points and Difficult Points:

1. Enable students to learn words and phrases of this part: classical, rock'n'roll, orchestra, rap, folk, jazz, choral, the Monkees, musician,?etc.

2. Encourage students to discuss about music confidently.

Step 1 Lead－in

1.Ask students if they are free today ,what will they do ?

2.Watch a short video

Step 2 Warming up

1.Ask students the two questions

1) Do you like music?

2）How many kinds of music do you know ?

2.Guessing　and　sharing

Students guess the types of some pieces of music and share their favorite music.

3.Discussion

Students discuss what kind music do they like? Chinese or Western, classical or modern? Why?

Step 3 Pre-reading

1.Have you heard about any famous bands in the world?

2.Do you know the Monkees?

Step4　Homework

1, Learn the new words and expressions by heart.
