Before class
Ask the students to finish the learning guide, let them observe some sentences and summarize the usages of target words. Finish some consolidating exercises.
In class
Step 1.Show the students learning aims of this period
①to learn some tips of memorizing words:图形助记/语境助记/语篇助记/构词联想(联想派生词)/词义联想(联想近义词、反义词)/结构联想
②to learn some usages of key words (gain/starve/gather /admire/satisfy /award/dress up/as though) and put them into use.
Purpose: let the students know the learning aims
Step 2. Warming up---- Guessing game
Let the students guess the target words with the help of pictures,show some sentences that contains some target words made up by students, tell the students the first tip---use pictures/imagination to help them memorize words(图形助记)

Step 3. Learning words and tips
Let the students discuss the observe the sentences, summarize the usages of the target words in group. Then students will present.The teacher will gives tips for memorizing words.(语境助记)
