Teaching Procedures
Step 1 Lead-in 3 minutes
1.Students are to enjoy a video and get the key words of it to get familiar with the topic.
2.Students are encouraged to predict the main idea of reading passage by observing the title.
Step 2 Reading 13 minutes
1.Reading for the outline
Students are to skim the passage to check their prediction and match the main ideas with paragraphs to have a general idea of the structure of the passage. After that, students will be able to get the main idea of the text from the main ideas of each paragraph.
Reading for details
Students read the text and answer the questions raised by teacher.
Step 3 Consolidation 23 minutes
1.Discussion
1).Students are introduced the topic of the discussion through pictures.
2).Students are divided tasks and discuss with partners about the problems and solutions of shared bikes in Xiamen.
2.Talk Show
1).Students are introduced the task.
2).Students divide tasks among group members.(see the handout)
3).Students work in groups and get prepared for the talk show.
4).Each group is to present their talk show to the whole class with the help of what they discussed in former part.
Step 4 Summary 5 minutes
Students review today’s lesson and have a look at teacher’s ideas.
Step 5 Homework 1 minutes
Students are to search more information from chinadaily and write an article about the problems and the solutions of shared bikes based on talk show.
