II. Analysis of the students
1.教学对象为高一学生,他们的认知能力比初中阶段有了进一步的发展,渐渐形成了用英语获取信息、处理信息、分析问题和解决问题的能力,因此需要特别注重提高学生用英语进行思维和表达的能力。
2.学生经过本单元前面课程的学习,已基本了解大爆炸的背景及地球生命进化过程,对牛顿,爱因斯坦,霍金三位科学家提出的引力学说很感兴趣,对天文学充满了好奇与渴望。并渴望用英语把所学知识用英语表达出来。
3.他们有自己的学习技能和策略,学会把语言学习与现实生活和兴趣联系起来。通过任务型课堂活动和学习,学生的学习自主性得到加强,主动参与到活动中去,成为课堂的主体,同时也加强了与他人交流合作的能力。

After learning this unit, students will be able to
Describe how the gravity will change on a trip to the moon
Tell the purpose of a writer judging by the theme of a passage
Tell the problems we will meet on the moon and the solutions to the problems
Describe the main characters of a planet and how to prevent the problems we meet
Make a speech by using the expressions and sentence patterns they learn
Emotional attitude and value objectives
To arouse Ss’ interest in astronomy.
To develop Ss’ awareness of cooperation and competition.
IV. Main points and difficult points
Main points:
1.To train the abilities of students’ self-regulated learning and cooperative learning
2. To direct Ss to find the three changes of weight and gravity while visiting the moon, and the change of the two visitors’ feeling from before the trip to after the trip.
3. To direct Ss to imagine a trip to a planet and the possible problems they will meet and the solutions to the problems.
Difficult points:
To train the students’ abilities to think in English, to catch information rapidly and to make a speech in English.
