Step I Lead-in
Present the students with the Canada’s national anthem before the class so that they can easily turn their attention to the topic!
Hand out each group an envelop to arouse their interest and put the materials in the envelop.
Use Brainstorm and ask the students what they have already known about Canada.
Step II While-reading activities
Main idea.
1) Present the students with a picture of a train and the title “ A Trip on the True North” to help them guess the meaning of the title.
2) Use “who” “where” “why” to help the students to find out the main idea.
3) Search for the cities and draw the route on the map. Let the students know how to find out the cities quickly.
