(一)主语从句在句中作主语
1. That mathematics finds its use in every science is evident.

(二) 宾语从句在句中作宾语
5. I thought (that) you had read the book.
6. We should learn to tell whether an element is poisonous or not.

(三)表语从句在句中做表语
9. The trouble is that I have lost his telephone number.
10. The question is whether they will be able to help us.
(四)同位语从句在句中作补充说明名词及其短语的从句
11. I am in doubt whether I should buy or not.
12. He expressed his hope that he would visit China again.
