Reading(1) A Pioneer For All People
Ⅰ. Teaching contents
This period includes Reading ,It introduces something about agriculture, especially about Dr Yuan and his super hybrid rice. So after reading the passage about Dr Yuan the students will know the importance of his achievement to man. Of course they will learn from Dr Yuan some noble characters, and learn how they should try their best to make contributions to the society.
Ⅱ. The analysis of Students
Our school students are almost from the countryside. Therefore, They are familiar with the knowledge and the information of the countryside. They are poor in words and reading ability and cooperative learning skills. Some students are not active in the class .Therefore , I ’ll have students study in a relaxed atmosphere. I ’ll try to inspire them and help them improve their interest in English.

(Ⅰ).Knowledge aims
1.words and expressions: sunburn, struggle, super, rid ... of, be satisfied with, lead a ... life, search for, would rather, thanks to, with the hope of, rather than
2.knowledge of the topic: to learn sth. About Yuan Longping and his great achievement
(Ⅱ).Ability aims
Help Ss learn how to describe Dr Yuan Longping including his personality.
To do some reading to further develop Ss’ reading abilities like skimming, scanning and summarizing etc.
(Ⅲ).Emotional aims
To help Ss have a better understanding of the great value of the scientific research done by Dr Yuan Longping.
To cultivate Ss’ sense of sympathy and humanism.
Ⅳ.Teaching key points and difficult points
Key points:
1.To get ss to read the passage and learn something about the scientist, his great achievements and his personality.
2. To improve ss’ reading skills.
