T: Hello, boys and girls. Today ,we are going to learn –ing form as object. Do you know the definition of gerund?
S: When we add an –ing form to a verb ,it becomes a gerund.
T: Very good. The –ing form of do ,read and ask is doing ,reading and asking. Who knows its negative form?
S: Not + -ing
T: Because a gerund has the property of a noun, it can be used as a subject ,object, predicate and attributive in a sentences. Today we are going to learn a gerund as an object in an sentence.
T: Please observe the sentences ,especially pay attention to the words marked in red, then summarize the use of –ing form as object.
I enjoy listening to music.
She can’t stand being looked down upon.
The boy is good at dancing.
We should protect our environment from being polluted.
I find it no use persuading him to change his mind.

S: -ing form can be an object of a verb or preposition, and -ing can be replaced by it ,instead –ing form is placed at the end of the sentence.
