Teaching procedures

Step1:Lead-in 激发学生原有知识,引出话题

1. Show the pictures of Guo Degang and Mr Bean.

2. Lead students to talk about crosstalk and mime, so that the teacher can present the new word: nonverbal.

Step2: Prediction大胆预测文章内容,让学生对文章有期待感

By reading the title and picture in the textbook, ask students to predict what they will read about Charlie Chaplin in the passage

Step3:Reading for key words通过找主旨句让学生明确每段的基本大意

①Find the key words in each paragraph

Ask students to read through the passage and locate the topic sentence

②Find out What aspects are mentioned about Charlie Chaplin in the passage: Introduction; childhood; typical character; famous film and achievements.
