1 【Analysis of the text】:
The main topic of the passage is about “great scientists”. With the rapid development of the world and the time, language as a communication tool is also developing and changing very fast. And English, as the world’s most widely used language, is absorbing foreign culture and being innovated all the time. It can enrich students’ knowledge about English language, especially the current trend of English development. Besides by this lesson, students can develop the ability of listening and speaking.
2【Analysis of the students】:
Currently students are in Grade 2, senior high school. This is the first unit of the semester. The students are not very good at the listening and speaking ability., lacking independent study ability and are very dependent of teachers. In addition, they may have difficulty in understanding meanings of the text and dialogue and communicating fluently with their classmates. Thus teachers should lead and guide students correctly and effectively. What’s more, teachers should also help students build their knowledge system and encourage classroom communication.
