教材分析：

本课内容是普通高中课程标准实验教科书英语必修五第三单元的第一个课时。本单元的中心话题是“谈未来”。本节课旨在通过引导学生回顾过去，认识现在的基础上战网未来的生活，对未来生活的衣食住行等各方面进行描述与探讨， 阅读课文中关于未来环境、交通和房屋的描述以激发学生对人类未来生活的想象。培养其语言技能和创造力，拓展其思维，同时培养对生活和对地球的热爱。

学情分析：

高二的学生在英语学习中已经接触和了解可一些西方文化，对文化类的话题有较强的兴趣，具有初步的英语听说读写能力，但教师在教学中还是要不断的教给他们阅读的方法和技巧，并引导他们了解中西方文化的异同，激发他们对地球的保护意识。
