Step1.Have a try

指出关系代词(副词)在定语从句中的成份:

1.The man who came to our school is Mr. Wang. ( )

2.The girl (whom) I met is Lucy. ( )

3.A child whose parents are dead is called Tom.( )

4.I like the book (which) you bought yesterday.( )

5. His parents wouldn’t let him marry anyone whose family was poor. ( )

6. I like the person to whom you just talked. ( )

7. We shall never forget the days (that) we spent together.

8. We shall never the days when we lived together.

Step2. Have a conclusion

判定定语从句部分关系词的“四步走”策略:

首先找出先行词和定语从句,然后把先行词与定语从句组成一个句意完整、结构完整的句子(可增加介词);接着分析组成的句子中先行词(包括加入的介词)在句中充当什么成分;最后依据关系代词或关系副词在句中充当的成分填入合适的关系词。

技巧一 寻找先行词,辨别人与物

(2015·全国卷Ⅰ)I’d skipped nearby Guilin,a dream place for tourists seeking the limestone mountain tops and dark waters of the Li River ________are pictured by artists in so many Chinese paintings.

解析: 先行词为waters,在从句中作主语。

答案: that/which

技巧二 判断所缺成分,选择关系词

(2016·全国卷Ⅰ)But my connection with pandas goes back to my days on a TV show in the mid-1980s,________I was the first Western TV reporter permitted to film a special unit caring for pandas rescued from starvation in the wild.

解析: 分析句子结构可知,空格处引导定语从句,且在从句中作时间状语,故填关系副词when。

答案: when
