Step 1 leading-in
The teacher tells the students that this is the hotline 12580. Then the telephone rings. It is one of our classmates that asks for advice. He didn’t pass the exam and he felt blue. He just wants to be happy . The teacher turns to the students for help. Students may think up some good ideas.
eg. Show funny pictures, tell jokes, play a comedy show, tell funny stories
Then let us enjoy some funny pictures and a part of a comedy.
Step 2 speaking
After enjoying the comedy , students tell the story happening in the video . Then the teacher gives the sample. Students conclude the writing order by themselves.
Step 3 pre-writing
Situation 1
Present a funny picture : mice and a cat
Ask students to imagine what will happen next. They should make their stories as funny as they can.
Situation 2
Tell a funny story they heard, read or experienced.
Students can choose either of the two situations to discuss how to develop their funny stories.
