Students in grade 2:
1. can understand the content easily.
2. have learnt a good deal of words, but not good at making a distinction between the similar words.
3. can not use English in daily communication.
4. is not familiar with the words about medical treatment.
5. is not familiar with the things of first aid.
= 3 ﹨ ROMAN III . Analysis of the teaching contents
1. Warming up
This part is an entry point for our teachers to lead students in the theme of the passage. It is not only a communication part about language, but also a good way to active the atmosphere of class.
This part in unit 5 give a definition of First Aid at beginning to make the students have a general view of the unit. Then, it ask students to discuss the given pictures to lead them thinking about things independent. Teachers can adjust the time according to the characteristics of the learners.
2. Pre-reading
This part always mentions something similar to the reading part.It can lead the students into the content very quickly and naturally,and it also can give a buffering to the students before they learn the reading part. This is a useful part for our teachers to begin the next part.
This part in unit 5 give some questions according to a picture ,and let readers found answers from the following content.
3. Reading
This part can connect the English Language knowledge with daily life closely.
The title of this part in unit 5 is” First Aid for Burns”, it was separated into 5 parts:
= 1 ﹨ roman i First aid is a very important first step in the treatment of burns.
= 2 ﹨ roman ii causes of burns.
= 3 ﹨ roman iii Types of burns
First degree burns; Second degree burns; Third degree burns
= 4 ﹨ roman iv Characteristics of burns
