I. Teaching Aims:
Knowledge aims:
Enable the students to master some first aid treatment for various emergencies.
Make the students to realize the great uses of the knowledge of first aid.
Encourage the students to describe a person’s action with as many adjectives as possible, such as brave, selfless, courageous, etc.
Ability aims:
Practice the students’ ability to catch topic words in listening.
Improve the students’ ability to catch some supportive sentences to finish the dictation task.﹨
Encourage the students to share their ideas on a social event orally.
Enable the students to consider things comprehensively.
Emotional aims:
Inspire the students’ spirit of doing boldly what is righteous.
Encourage the students to help others on the base of their own safety.
II.Analysis of the Students.
The knowledge the students have learned before the class.
As high school students, they have known some adjectives to describe a person. And they have known some first aid treatments. Besides, the students have learned some useful words and expressions in this unit, which is helpful for them to prepare this class.
The knowledge and ability the students should acquire in this class.
The students should practice and improve their listening skills in this class, especially catching key sentences in listening.
As to reading, the students should be encouraged enough to be active in sharing their ideas with others.
The most important purpose of the students’ study should be the spirit of doing boldly what is righteous, which is essential for their healthy growth in morality.
The learning methods the students can apply in this class.
Task-based learning is helpful for the students to finish the listening task.
Cooperative study in pairs is useful to think out as many adjectives as they can to describe one’s activity.
