Step1 Lead-in 导入
通过图片引出本节课的话题art，然后让学生列举他们所知道的艺术形式，进而补充介绍。
Step2 Warming-up热身
给学生展示一些中国著名画家和画作，并让学生归纳出中国绘画的特点
‘What are the features of Chinese painting’？进而提出问题 ‘How much do you know about western painting’?
Step3 Pre-reading 读前
Students’ Presentation Time
课前将学生分成四组，根据课文的介绍分别对四个不同时期的西方绘画做研究，将成果做成PPT的形式，每组五分钟时间，由组内口语较好的同学用英文讲解PPT，可以辅助音频或视频资料，每组展示完后及时给予评价，从而引出本节阅读课的课文——“a short history of western painting”
Step4 Reading 阅读
设置相应练习，让学生通过速读，了解文章大意
