Step one Lead in
By showing some pictures about extreme weather on the earth，to make students aware of the negative effects about global warming , and lead to the theme of the unit4.
(2) By designing a question--- What other effects does global warming have? The main purpose is to promote the students’ creative thinking and ability to summarize.
Step two Presentation and practice
(1) Present the short passage about the meaning of global warming , and then ask the students to make use of the phrases which appear in the previous reading passage to fill in the following blanks properly.
Global warming is a phenomenon that has caused great concern. We can see how it ___________(产生) by reading the passage.
Greenhouse gases in the atmosphere can warm the earth by trapping heat energy.
