五、Teaching procedures
Step 1 Warm-up and lead-in
1. Enjoy an English song: Old Macdonald had a farm. Ask Ss to find the animals they watch in the song.
2. Learn to imitate the sound of animals in the song.
3. Teacher presents a new word “zoo” to lead in the new lesson.
Step2 Presentation
1. Teacher imitates some animals and asks Ss to guess what animal it is.
2. Ss read new words according to the pictures and phonetic symbols.
3. Ask some students to read the new words for class.
4. Give a paper to Ss and ask them complete the mind map of animals quickly. The top five students can show their answers on the blackboard.
Step3 Listening and speaking
1. Complete 1a in a competition. Ss can answer them by themselves aloud.
