Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Lead -in
T: Why do people write poems?
There are various reasons _why__ poets write?poems .Some poems tell a story or describe something. Others try to?convey certain feelings.
[设计意图]:让学生思考人们为什么写诗从而引出诗中体现情感。
Step 2 Pre-reading
Ask a student to describe the picture briefly
A mother is sewing clothes for her son before he leaves home.
T:This picture reminds me of an ancient poem. “Song?of?a?Wanderer?”( 游子吟). Who can recite it for us?
Ask a student to recite the poem and then the whole class recite it.
T: what emotion does the poem convey? (A mother’s love and care)
T: Can you feel your father’s love?(Ask one or two students to state his opinion)
T:?Father’s love is not so obvious but definitely deep. There is a popular saying, “A father's love?is?as a mountain: heavy?and silent.” Today we will learn an English poem “I’ve saved the summer” Let’s see what it is about.
[设计意图]:让学生描述插图,引出古诗《游子吟》。全班诵读,感受诗人母亲的爱子之情。 教师提问学生对父爱的感受,引出新课内容。
Step 3 Talk about the author
[设计意图]:让学生了解作者的有关情况。
Step 4 Listening
Listen to the poem ‘I’ve saved the summer’ and answer these questions.
1.Do you think the speaker in the poem is more likely to be a girlfriend /boyfriend or parent?
2. How does it make you feel and what does it make you think about?
3. What came into your mind?
