本单元的中心话题是诗歌。文中涉及诗歌的韵律，节奏，并介绍了几种不同内容和形式的简单诗歌。本节课是该单元的重点部分。因此，本节课的主要目的在于引导学生讨论这些内容，让他们了解诗歌的几种形式的特点，学会欣赏这些优美的诗歌并能够自己尝试写简单的诗歌。
二、本班学情分析
本班学生的英语基础属于中等水平，有一定的词汇量但不多。因为大多数的学生都来自农村落后地区，因此知识面不广。在阅读能力方面的情况是有了一定的阅读技巧但由于阅读面窄，阅读速度较慢。在口语表达方面，由于没有说英语的真实环境，大多数同学学的英语都属于哑巴英语。很多情况下他们有直接用中文来表达的不良习惯。但他们对新的事物接受能力比较强，个性活泼开朗，对英语的学习兴趣浓厚并有这很好的模仿能力及很强的创作意愿。
四、教学设计(根据教学大纲的要求以及本班的实际情况，本节课的教学设计如下。
Ability goals 能力目标
1. To learn about some simple forms of English poems.学习几种简单的英文诗歌。
2. To develop the students' reading ability by skimming and scanning the passage.通过跳读和查读课文训练学生的阅读技能。
3. To develop the students' speaking ability by talking about some characteristics of some simple forms of English poems.通过谈论诗歌的特点培养学生的英语口语能力。

1.To cultivate students' appreciation of poetry and the ability of understanding，enjoying and writing poems.培养学生的诗歌鉴赏能力并享受写英文诗歌

.本环节设计意图：通过展示一首学生写给老师的一首中文诗歌，比较贴近他们的生活，引起学生兴趣，设问一些问题,然后展示一首他们熟悉的英文诗歌，让他们唱，激发学生学习热情，活跃课堂气氛，激活原有知识，再设问一个问题，进而自然过渡到文中的主题。
