Step 1.lead in (4 minutes)

Ask Ss a question based on the previous lessons in this unit, “which poem do you like best? Why?”

Illustration: Ss will recall their memory of what they have learnt about five basic forms of poetry and the characterristics of them, which lays a foundation for today’s lesson.

Step 2. Pre-reading and reading (2 minutes)

Play the short song of “If you were the only girl in the world” to Ss, and ask them three questions to think about.
