Ⅱ. Analysis of students

Students of this age are quick in thought and they are eager to show what they know, so they seem more enthusiastic to be involved in each activity, which is very useful in English language learning. However, most of the students are lack of confidence to speak English correctly, and they depend too much on the teachers in learning. Therefore, what I pay more attention in this short class is to encourage everyone to be interested in English and to speak it bravely, to learn it freely.

Ⅲ. Teaching aims

Knowledge objects:

To enable the students to learn more about HIV.

Ability objects:

(1) To develop the Ss’ abilities of reading.

(2) To train the Ss’ ability of summarizing the details in text.

(3) To help the Ss to make better use of the learned knowledge to express their thoughts.

3. Emotion objects:

By completing the tasks, the students increase their interest and confidence in English speaking and reading.

To cultivate students’ sense of cooperation.

Ⅳ. Important points and difficult points

1. Teaching important points

(1)Get the students to grasp the required information in so many details.

2. Teaching difficult points

(1) Enable the students to express their idea by using the learned knowledge.

V. Teaching approaches

The Ss-centered Approach is adopted while the teacher is the guide and the organizer.

The Task-based Approach is adopted to design some tasks in each step of the lesson.

The situational Approach is used to arouse the students’ interest in English learning.

VI. Leaching approaches

The students can realize the learning aims through discussion, brainstorming, group cooperation and so on.
