本单元主要话题是The power of nature 。旨在通过本单元的教学题，旨在通过单元教学，学生能了解火山爆发、地震、台风、洪水等自然现象，认识到自然的伟大力量及魅力，并会用所学词汇描述在经历自然灾害时的感受，思考人类应对自然灾害的态度和方法，提高自我保护意识。Reading and writing的reading介绍了旅游胜地The Lake of Heaven,培养学生快速获取信息的能力。Writing 与Reading 属于同一话题，要求根据所给信息写一篇介绍景点的作文。考虑到训练的有效性及重点的突出，这节课Writing是在上节课Reading完成之后的巩固及延伸。因为内容的相关性，所以将Using Language中的Reading中的句子作为Writing的铺垫。这节课是一节“写作课”。

学生分析：

高二三班学生不善于表达但思维活跃，由于上节课Reading中很多优美有效的关于描写表达景点的句子，需要多引导学生多思考多模仿，此后学会用自己的方式表达。通过以往作文写作的观察，有部分学生畏惧写作，积累不够，不懂结构框架，但都有向上想要提高写作能力的积极性。

设计意图：

作文一直是学生“头痛”和“无从下手”的难题。作为3班的同学，基础相对薄，单纯的让他们去写一篇好的英语作文并非那么容易。在高中英语课本的编排中，using Language部分中将相关的阅读与相关的写作结合起来，使上节阅读课中的优美有效的关于描写表达景点的句子作为写作的铺垫和积累。这点在BOOK 1中 的Unit 1and Unit 4及其他各册中都有体现，本单元也是如此。所以从学生程度及教材考虑，先通过对上节阅读课中的好词好句的积累，背诵巩固，模仿，使学生能够通过课本学会思考、总结，学会从所学中模仿、借鉴；之后引导帮助学生积累一些课本以外的描写景点的句子，为学生的“写”做好铺垫。过程是通过背诵课本好词好句--------有意模仿-------课外积累--------写作。通过本课，一方面使学生意识到课本积累对写作的有效帮助，同时也能积极总结积累课本外的一些有效句子为“写”做铺垫，牢固树立“日积月累”才能进步的思想。

教学目标：

Knowledge Aims:

To learn and imitate some sentences available about tourist attractions .

To learn how to write a good tourist attraction composition .

Ability Aims: :

To improve the students’ writing skills.

To learn to imitate useful sentences the students need from the text and put them into practice.

To improve the students’ ability of gathering knowledge from the textbooks and outside.

Emotional Aims：

1. To motivate the students to learn to overcome the obstacles they are faced with when studying .

2. To urge the students to learn from the textbooks and outside and keep their devotion to heightening themselves.

Key and difficult points:

1. To learn some useful sentences from the text by heart and try to make up sentences by imitating them.

2. How to write a good composition about a tourist attraction .

3. To put what the students have learned from the text and outside into use.

Step 1. Lead-in

Lead in the topic to arouse the students’ interest in scenic spots by enjoying pictures and retelling The Lake of Heaven.
