Let students know different kinds of disability people might have

To realize that we can’t always tell a person who has a disability just by looking at them and to understand that people with disability can also lead fulfilling lives

Ask students to have a right attitude towards the disabled.

Teaching procedures:

Step1 Warming up

Activity (2 volunteers)

1.Find your own seat with your eyes closed.

2.Hand me a book without your hands or arms.

Step2 Lead-in

1.Do you know anyone with mental or physical disability?

2.Does this disability make it difficult for them to do some things?

Step3 Pre-reading

You are going to read an entry on a website called “Family Village”. Glance at the title and picture, then discuss with a partner what kind of thing you think people would write about and why disabled people find the website beneficial.

Step4 Reading

Sum up the main idea of each paragraph.(2m)
