Teaching Aims:
By the end of the lesson, the students will

2. To learn how to write an excellent suggestion letter.
3. Be willing to give some advice and help others in trouble.
Teaching Focus and Difficulties:
Enable the students firstly to offer some suggestions aimed at some certain situations and then learn to write a good suggestion letter.

A computer and a projector. Some other props.
Teaching procedures:
Step1. Lead-in
This part is designed to warm students up and to lead them to the topic of this class.
The teacher will begin the class by a free talk.
T: Look at me, am I beautiful and slim? But recently I always feel tired and sleepy when working, so can you give me some useful suggestions to help me deal with my trouble?
Step 2: Speaking (before writing)
This part aims to improve the students’ ability of speaking.
The teacher will show a composition written by XiaoMing in the last examnation and ask students to point out his problems and give Xiao Ming some useful suggestions to help him improve his English writing.
Step 3: While writing
This part is designed to improve the students’ ability of writing a suggestion letter.
T: Yesterday you received a letter from your friend. He turned to you for advice about how to write a good suggetion letter.
Ask the students to consult the studying paper and try to write a suggestion letter to his best friend telling him something about how to write a good suggestion letter. The teacher will ask one student to write on the blackboard, and then ake the reat of the students to make comments on the writing.
