Teaching Procedures
Step 1. Dictation
Have a dictation as usual.
Step 2.Reading
1. Leading-in
Lead Ss to look at the title and know some basic information about Isaac Asimov. Then have them know what is a biography. Teacher may say, “Today we are going to learn a biography of Isaac Asimov. He is a famous American scientist and writer. He is very good at writing science fiction stories. Would you like to know more about him? Ok, please turn to page 16.”
2. Fast reading
(1) Ask Ss to read the text quickly and try to find the main idea of the text.
(2) Tick out what are mentioned in the passage.
3. Careful reading
(1) Ask Ss to read the text carefully and finish Ex1 on P17. And then let them check the answers in pairs.
(2) Ask Ss to find out what they cannot understand in the text and lead them to deal with them.
4. Summary
Fill in the chart and try to use the whole sentence to retell in oral.
Step 3.Writing
Write a composition to introduceMarie Curie according to the content in guiding papers
Call one or two students to show their articles.
Step 4. Homework
1. Read the passage several times and try to grasp some important phrases.
2 Complete your writing and polish it.
