The students have grasped some knowledge and approaches to solving problems but there is still much space in improving particularly in reading comprehension and grammar including filling blanks with the right words and right forms and proof reading for which part they always lose marks in an examination.
Teaching procedures :
Step 1: leading in . By showing the picture of Sponge Bob the teacher brings in the title of the unit Under the sea . By comparing the differences between a shark and a whale, let the students know that a whale is an mammal while a shark is a fish. By asking about the relationship between a killer whale , a baleen whale and a whaler the teacher brings in the topic of the reading part Old Tom the killer whale.
Step 2: Pre-reading. This part is given as homework-checking part. Before the class, the teacher gave out papers to let the students fill in the form according to the pre-reading part. This time the teacher gives out the answers and makes sure the students have done it well.
