Get students to learn and master the uses of the passive voice of -ing form.
Enable students to use the passive voice of -ing form correctly.
Teaching Procedures:
Step I Revision and Lead-in
Let students revise the grammar in unit 2: the passive voice of the infinitive and then lead in today’s lesson: the passive voice of -ing form.
Step II Self-Learning
Get students to pick out the passive - ing forms in the following
sentences and then translate the sentences.
I had already heard that George didn’t like being kept waiting, so even though I did not have the right clothes on, I raced after him.
I could see a whale being attacked by a pack of about six other killers.
Being badly wounded, the whale soon died.
From James’ face, I could see he was terrified of being abandoned by us.
I saw James being held up in the water by Old Tom.
