Step I. Warming up:
1.Greetings.
2.Teacher asks the students to read a passage on the screen and find the –ing forms in it.
3.Teacher’s explanations:
Some words and phrases are followed by –ing forms as objects. Now let’s look at them in this passage one by one.
Ss: avoid, enjoy, insist on, a way of..., from, fancy, be busy …
T: You are very smart, What about other –ing forms? What are they used as?
Ss: Adverbial, subject …
T:Yes, you are right. The word “running” is used as adverbial and in the sentence “It is no use pretending…seen him”, “pretending…seen him” is used as subject , the word “It” is a form subject. That’s all for review.
