Step 1 Leading in
Ask students the following qusetions:
1.Have you ever been to the sea?
2.If you don’t have the chance to go to the sea, can you guess what will be in th sea?
Ask them to have a discussion. As I know, most of you haven’t been to the sea or the seaside. So let’s look at some picture to know about the sea.
Step 2 New words and expressons
First learn some names of new creatures you have never seen.
Turtle shark sea-slug seaweed giant clam eel
Then some new adjectives and so on.
pure vivid narrow suck sharp shallow steep boundary
At last some new expressons.
reflect on be aware of
upside down be scared to death
look down get close to
Ask students to have a try to use these words to make sentences.
Step 3 Fast reading
Next ask students to read the passage to get a general idea of the it , then match the topice with the paragraph. After that, ask them to complete these noun groups from the diary entry.
Step 4 Reading coomprehension
Next ask students to read the passage again and then answer the following questions.
