Ⅷ.Teaching procedures:

Step1 Revision

(Review the animals learnt by having a competition and asking students questions.)

Teacher: How many animals can you see on the screen? What are they?

Step2 Match the description words with the animals.

Give the students some pictures of animals and ask the students to describe them with the description words learnt.

Step3 Listening

Ask Ss to listen to a conversation between Mary and Tony carefully .The teacher will play the tape twice. For the first time, Ss should circle the description words they hear in 1a. For the second time, Ss should fill in the chart with the description words they hear. Ask Ss to listen to the key words and sentences . Finally, I’ll check their answers with the class.

Step4 Pairwork

Show some pictures about animals and a model conversation to Ss .then ask the students to work in pairs and make their own conversation. Next I’ll ask several pairs to role-play. eg.

A: What animals do you like?

B: I like pandas.

A:Why?
