The analysis of learning condition
The students are from grade 2 in senior high school. They have achieved certain English level but still lack the ability of speaking and writing. That’s why I design this lesson into a speaking and writing class. Besides, in order to inspire students to study harder and harder, I choose studying abroad as the topic.
Learning objectives
Language skills:Students can express their ideas using complete sentences.
Students can think about the problems and solutions logically in English.
Learning knowledge
Students can master the key words and phrases of this topic. And put some advanced sentence patterns into practice.
Emotion target: After this class, students will realize that studying abroad is a good chance to achieve a higher level but at the same time we should make contributions to our own country.
The difficult and important points of teaching:
To inspire students to come up with proper ideas and write down sentences logically in English.
Teaching method: Questions-based; group discussion; evaluation
Teaching procedures
Step 1: Lead-in After five years, most of you will graduate from university. What will you do after graduation?----- further education----studying abroad
Step 2: Discussion and sentence writing
Topic: Why are there so many Chinese students prefer to study abroad?
Presentation:Mainly speaking
However, each coin has two sides. What are the opposite opinions?
Step 3: A specific writing task taken from one of the papers.
假如你是李华,你的好友Lucy对于自己是否选择出国留学犹豫不决,特发了封邮件向你求助。请你根据以下内容给她回邮件。1.帮她分析出国留学的利弊;2.建议她合理选择,与父母沟通 可适当增加细节,使文章通顺流畅,字数110词左右。
