Emotional aims: To be aware of a totally different culture of Peru, this is a mixture of Spain and Indian.
Teaching method: Task-based method; Group cooperation and presentation.
Teaching tools: Multi-media classroom, PPT , whiteboards.
Teaching procedures:
Step1 Greetings
The students stand up as a group and speak out the slogans of each team.
Step2 Leading in
Supposing the teacher today will be the guide, and the students the customers, ask students to pay attention to the following tour. Before leaving for Peru, show some pictures of Peru to help students have a whole picture of it.
Show some beautiful and extraordinary scenery of the Andes Mountains, Lake Titicaca, the Amazon Jungle, Lima, Cuzco, and Machu Picchu.
(Design aim: Let students have a general understanding of Peru from seeing such pictures.)
Step3 Listening task.
Introduce a friend called Lia to students and explain that she want to go on a tour to Peru, too.
Ask students to listen to the dialogue between Lia and the travel agent carefully and then tick out what Lia likes doing.
